i suspect mccain has a very long standing, untreated PTSD from his time in captivity. while that's not his fault and with no disrespect to his experience, it produces hypervigilance to any perceived threat, an enormous investment in control and reflexive reactivity. if this is the case, we should never consider him a potential leader.
